June 2023 - Glens Falls, NY
In a project that involved more than a few twists and turns and hurdles, Renua is pleased to draw to a successful close the installation of 4 EV chargers at
Whiteman Chevrolet at 79 Dix Ave in Glens Falls, NY.
"One of Renua's core values is resilience and that came into play during this installation," commented Renua's founder and president,
Dave Byrne. "From the changes surrounding the service upgrade, to the cold weather as we worked through the winter months, and from the increasing costs due to supply chain issues to the time constraints required to meet our customer's deadlines, our team was challenged quite a few times. But I'm proud to say that we pulled together to make this installation a success for our customer."
The project involved the installation of 2 JuiceBox Pro 80 (19.2kW) single-port units from
Enel-X-Way in the service garage for dealer use and 2 dual port ICE 60kW units installed for dealer and public use from
InCharge. The DC chargers offer a single vehicle 60kW while two simultaneous charging vehicles on the same charger receive 30kW each.
The project required a service upgrade from National Grid to the business to increase the voltage from 220 to 480 to supply the DC fast chargers. A step-down transformer was required to back-feed the original service and to supply the 2 AC chargers. One NEMA 14-50R receptacles was also installed in a service bay dedicated for EV service.
Renua is pleased to have been a part of Whiteman's efforts in this project and we thank Amy Whiteman-Brown and Carolyn Londrigan and their team for their patience and professionalism. We're excited to see the Whiteman Chevrolet team benefit from the additional revenue streams offered through this charging service that they've made available to the public and through increasing electric vehicle sales over the coming years.
