At Renua Energy, we know that great projects start with great people. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the newest member of our team, John Decker. Bringing decades of leadership experience and a proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects, John adds tremendous value to our growing organization as we continue expanding our solar and energy storage capabilities throughout the Northeast.
A Career Built on Infrastructure, Leadership, and Results
John Decker brings a wealth of experience to Renua Energy, with more than 35 years of expertise spanning telecommunications, construction, and project management.
Before joining Renua Energy, John spent 25 years in the telecommunications industry, where he led infrastructure projects that expanded high-speed internet access to underserved communities through government-funded initiatives. Throughout his career, he advanced through a variety of leadership roles—from Service and Installation Technician to Technical Supervisor and Construction Coordinator—working closely with regulatory agencies, customers, contractors, and executive stakeholders to successfully deliver complex projects.
His ability to manage multiple stakeholders, navigate challenging project requirements, and consistently deliver successful outcomes has made him a respected leader throughout his career. The experience he gained overseeing large infrastructure initiatives translates seamlessly into the renewable energy industry, where coordination, planning, and execution are critical to project success.
Supporting Renewable Energy Projects from Start to Finish
At Renua Energy, John leads the estimating process for our solar and energy storage projects while helping develop the systems and processes that drive accurate budgeting, competitive proposals, and successful project execution.
Drawing on his extensive background in project management, contractor oversight, and infrastructure development, he collaborates closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to bring renewable energy projects from concept to completion.
His role is instrumental in ensuring projects are properly scoped, accurately estimated, and positioned for long-term success. As Renua continues to grow its portfolio of commercial solar, battery energy storage, and energy infrastructure projects, John’s experience helps strengthen the foundation that allows us to deliver quality solutions to our clients.
Family First
Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his family—his wife Anne, whom he has been married to for 15 years, and their children, Avry (12) and Ella (9).
Despite a busy professional schedule, he remains actively involved in his children’s activities, coaching Avry’s baseball and soccer teams and supporting Ella’s passion for dance. The flexibility of working from home allows him to stay engaged in these important family moments and maintain a strong balance between career and family life.

Enjoying Time Beyond the Office
When he’s not on the sidelines of a game or attending a dance performance, John and his family enjoy their annual beach vacations. He also looks forward to getting together with friends for a round of golf whenever he gets the chance.
Whether he’s managing a project, coaching a youth sports team, or spending time with family and friends, John’s dedication, leadership, and positive attitude are evident in everything he does.
