Renua Energy Recognized in Local Solar Coverage
Renua Energy was recently featured in coverage from The Highlands Current highlighting the completion of a new municipal rooftop solar project in the City of Beacon. The article focused on the city’s continued investment in renewable energy infrastructure and the collaborative effort required to bring the project online.
The coverage showcased the growing role solar energy is playing in municipalities across New York as communities continue looking for long-term solutions to reduce energy costs and improve sustainability.
Supporting the City of Beacon’s Renewable Energy Goals
The rooftop solar array was installed at the City of Beacon Highway Department garage and was designed to help offset municipal electricity usage while supporting the city’s broader environmental initiatives.
Renua Energy completed the installation of the 95.7 kW DC / 100 kW AC solar PV system as part of a larger coordinated effort involving city leadership, engineers, and funding partners. The project received support through NYSERDA’s NY-Sun incentive program along with additional legislative funding secured for the city.
A Facility Designed With Solar in Mind
One of the more unique aspects of the project was that the building had originally been planned with future solar integration in mind. That foresight helped create an opportunity for the city to efficiently move forward once funding and project coordination aligned.
The installation process still required careful planning and execution due to the structural and environmental considerations associated with the site. Through collaboration between all parties involved, the system was successfully completed and brought online to begin generating clean renewable energy for the municipality.
Continuing to Support Municipal Energy Projects Across New York
Projects like Beacon continue to demonstrate how local governments throughout New York are investing in renewable energy systems that provide both environmental and long-term operational benefits.
At Renua Energy, we take pride in helping municipalities, organizations, and businesses move projects from concept through commissioning with a focus on engineering, installation quality, and long-term performance.
